Have you ever heard on legends stories such as mahsuri, pulau dayang bunting, tasik chini and others in Malaysia… Tangkuban perahu is a legendary story in Indonesia… This is the story… (taken from Wikipedia)

The name translates roughly to “upturning of (a) boat” or “upturned boat” in Sundanese, referring to the local legend of its creation. The story tells of “Dayang Sumbi”, a beauty who lived in West Java. She cast away her son “Sangkuriang” for disobedience, and in her sadness was granted the power of eternal youth by the gods. After many years in exile, Sangkuriang decided to return to his home, long after the two had forgotten and failed to recognize each other. Sangkuriang fell in love with Dayang Sumbi and planned to marry her, only for Dayang Sumbi to recognize his birthmark just as he was about to go hunting. In order to prevent the marriage from taking place, Dayang Sumbi asked Sangkuriang to build a dam on the river Citarum and to build a large boat to cross the river, both before the sunrise. Sangkuriang meditated and summoned mythical ogre-like creatures -buta hejo or green giant(s)- to do his bidding. Dayang Sumbi saw that the tasks were almost completed and called on her workers to spread red silk cloths east of the city, to give the impression of impending sunrise. Sangkuriang was fooled, and upon believing that he had failed, kicked the dam and the unfinished boat, resulting in severe flooding and the creation of Tangkuban perahu from the hull of the boat.

So during my company retreat to Bandung … this is one of the places that i visited…

If you are in a tour bus.. you need to take this transportation to go up..

Its very windy and you need to wear thick clothing..

Some attempt on cam-whoring….

I got fed-up… so i let my friends take pictures of me…

and this the famous volcano.. it smells like ammonia but the view is marvelous….

You can also shop here.. but you need to have good bargaining power… at least asked for 75% discount…. than you get a good price…

One of the shops selling swords… i mean good quality sword and keris…

So i spend around 30 to 45 minutes here… there are other activities such as horse riding but you need to be careful because when you step out of the bus… you will be swarm by salesman selling souvenirs and they will follow you everywhere you go… please ignore them because when start buying one.. more salesman will follow you.. just ignore them politely…

As a conclusion i think Indonesia government should develop this place to be more attractive for the tourist such as proper souvenir shops and proper picture taking location… a must visit place in Bandung and if you are lucky enough you can feel small earthquakes around that area… YES IT IS AN ACTIVE VOLCANO i heard….

Muka bangun pukul 3.00 pagi semata2 nak kejar flight pagi…

Antara aktiviti2 yang dijalankan… hehehe… semestinya makan….

Dan semestinya SHOPPING…

Kira duit dulu

Shopping handbag sebanyak 8 bijik..

Dan lain2…

Melawat masjid… ini dekat puncak.. kena celup kaki sebelum masuk.. dah la cuaca 10 darjah celcius… sejuk beb

Buat kawan…

dan tak lupa juga.. meeting… :(

Pengalaman yang tidak boleh dilupakan dan trip tersebut diakhiri dengan diri saya terlantar di hospital selama 3 malam… hehehe

Note: practicing my BM writing because i may need to write more in BM this year…. huh.. memang berkarat…
I will try to post more on trip to indonesia.. maybe visit tu puncak safari and tangkuban parahu…. insyallah kalau masa mengizinkan

True meaning of 1Malaysia

How I wish every issue been address this way…..

What a start for 2010

Have you come across situation where you think a normal fever can easily be treated with 2 dose of panadol? This is what I always do whenever I have a feeling that fever is coming to attack me…. I guess I’m totally wrong this time..

On 19 January 2010, it is just another ordinary working day for me. I just came back from my company’s management retreat in Indonesia the night before and fatigue is expected because we only slept for 2 to 3 hours per day. So I try to take a nap before lunch and hoping that I will recover from it…

As I woke up my body starts shivering and I felt cold instantly… I couldn’t control myself and instantly I went to the doctor nearby and he gave me panadol soluble (I think) to overcome the shivering. So I asked my wife to pick me up because I don’t think that I can drive home

A few hours letter my dad came to our house to see my condition and we found out that my temperature raise to 40 degrees Celsius… the immediate reaction is to go to the hospital and as expected they gave me drips because of high temperature….

Unfortunately as an hour passed by, my temperature still at the same level and my blood pressure getting lower and my heart beat getting faster and by that time I’ve suffered diarrhea. And the interesting conversation begins

Doctor :           Azrin, I need you to stay in the hospital tonight..

Azrin    :           Ok doctor.. please get me a single room

Doctor :           No.. not in the ward.. in the ICU.. your condition is quite bad…

Azrin    :           ICU? Please call my wife for me…

The moment the word ICU came out I know it will be a long story… and there I Was 2 days in the ICU and 1 day in normal ward battling so call viral infection…

But been in ICU gave me a different experience since I’m awake most of the time except for 6 critical hours battling with coldness and fever…. Thing that I’ve experienced:

  • You cannot go to the toilet or even put your feet on the ground in ICU… all the business been done on the bed… you will be bathed at 5 am in the morning and you need to learn to use pampers and bottle
  • A dedicated nurse for each patient that will monitor everything.. every single movement the nurse will say… “ada apa2 encik”…
  • Full of wires…. Your body will be wired to monitor heartbeat, oxygen level and blood pressure
  • People dying left right and centre..
  • And.. it is a boring place..

No pictures can be taken in the ICU so the only photo is me in the ward

Finally I would say thanks to my wife for taking care of me and all the nurses in Selangor Specialist Centre Shah Alam for a flawless and professional service. For Dr Shanker.. thanks for treating me… and also thanks for all the wishes my friends

I know i’m 12 days late.. but better be late than never… hehehe

so how do i perform last year?

9 Things to do in 2009

  • To increase my savings by RM 10,000  – if in total i made it but also spend most of it…. :)
  • To have another kid. Praying hard for a girl but it happens to be a boy I will always accept it - Insyallah will achieve it on August 2010
  • To do something about my hair.. getting worst.. – in treatment mode now… but the progress is sooo slow because of my lack of discipline
  • To go at least 2 holidays out of KL with my family - only managed to to Bali
  • To stay in 5 star hotel with my family at least 4 times this year – FAILED!!!
  • To maintain my weight at 60 kg… so I have 10kg to lose this year – FAILED!!!
  • To choose between management or consultant for my career - Now i’m a full time consultant and enjoying it
  • To buy a car for Eja by the end of 2009 - insyallah in the first quarter of 2010
  • To start back low cost wedding photography by June 2009 – FAILED!!!

So… my resolution for this year… simple..

  • To update my blog at least once  a week
  • To be able to bring my family for a holiday for at least 2 times in 2010
  • To become a consultant specialized in strategy
  • To take more pictures especially pictures of my family
  • To buy my wife a car
  • To spend more time with eja and kids

Basically 2009 i faced a lot of “UNWANTED” incident and i’m still having trauma of it until today… hoping that in 2010 i can built back the “TRUST” that i’ve build for few years back…. that’s the main goal…

THANKS 2009… YOU CHANGED ME A LOT TO BE A BETTER AND WISE PERSON…..
